Why MyoMender?

It started with one question.

One question started it all.

After nearly 20 years as a physical therapist, I kept coming back to a simple question: How can we help patients continue the care they need when getting back to the clinic isn’t always easy?

From a clinical challenge to an idea

In clinical practice, I’ve seen how distance, busy schedules, and limited appointment availability can make consistent care difficult. Yet care already extends beyond the clinic in many ways—from home exercise programs to clinician-recommended tools.

That sparked an idea: What if dry needling care could extend beyond the clinic, too?

That question became MyoMender

MyoMender was created to bridge that gap—giving patients another way to continue dry needling care between visits while keeping their treating provider involved.

Today, feedback from physical therapists, chiropractors, athletic trainers, and other clinicians who perform dry needling is helping shape what comes next.

The meaing behind MyoMender

“Myo” comes from the medical prefix for muscle. “Mender” reflects healing and recovery. Together, MyoMender represents the idea of extending clinician-guided muscle care beyond the clinic.

Meet the founder

I’m Dana Halderson, a physical therapist and founder of MyoMender. After nearly 20 years in physical therapy, I’ve seen firsthand how difficult it can be for patients to access care as often as they need it.

MyoMender grew from those experiences and from a simple belief: innovation should make care more accessible while supporting the relationship between patients and the providers who care for them.

Help shape what comes next.

We’re currently gathering feedback from clinicians who perform dry needling as MyoMender continues to develop. Your perspective can help shape what comes next.
